Most of us are familiar with the statement that 'necessity is the mother of all inventions' and it is a proven fact that every thing and anything that we have now is the result of someone inventing them out of necessity. If we look at human civilization and the changes that have happened over time and the changes happening every moment we understand that humans are finding new path and routes every day and minute whether it is about the new inventions in the field of Science and technology, in the field of Medicine, regarding lifestyle, education and what have we? Everything is in the process of transformation definitely for the betterment of human beings and the world at large. Let us try to read an interesting story around the prompt about the painting by the Dutch painter Jacob Van Ruisdael a prolific landscape painter who was active during the years 1629-1682. He is generally considered the pre eminent landscape painter of the Dutch Golden Age a period of great wealth and cultural achievement when Dutch painting gained popularity world over.

Jaggu was back in his small remote village Kumta after working in Dubai for about twenty years after his graduation in Engineering. His parents were happy but a bit sad too. Happy because their Son will be with them and he would take good care of them too, sad because he had given up a very high paying lucrative job with a top multi-national company. They wanted him to settle down in life. That is they wanted him to get married. But, jaggu had a very different plan altogether. He would get married but he would set many things right in his village that could make the life of villagers easy and better as well. Money was not a constraint as he had earned well and saved good money too. Apart from the money he had to make his idea a success he had a great intention to make his village a better place to live which needs to be appreciated. Anyways Jaggu was not doing it to get accolades. He genuinely felt the need to do so.

Jaggu was aware about how load shedding was a part of their everyday life since his childhood. They had to manage household work and he had to study with the help of an oil lantern. Had to bear a lot of strain to the eyes due to the dim light. But, he was ambitious and wanted to achieve great heights in life and he was able to do it with his parents support and his own will power. He had completed his mechanical engineering from a premium institute of the country and had secured a plush job that he had given up recently. Coming back to his present stay in his native Village Jaggu observed that there was not much change in the lives of the villagers, nor there was any change in their life style nor was there any better facilities in the infra structure of the village. After he came back to his village he bought about 20 acres of farm land near his village to practice Organic farming. This would create few jobs and his earning would also be possible. The poor electric supply in his village seemed to crush all his dreams and the dreams of the youth of his village who were happy that there was somebody to give them something which would enable them to earn money and lead a comfortable life. Those dreams too came crashing needless to say. But, jaggu was a known fighter. He would get a way out of any problem. Despite the promise of 8 hours of power supply, only one phase worked with an output of 230. volts, while the other phase got a100 volts of power supply. Now, this was really a big issue. Jaggu wanted to revolutionize organic farming by adopting latest technical methods and all that needed electricity. New methods of farming would help the farmers to produce more crop and earn more money and profit. With scarcity of water that again needed electricity to fill water in overhead tanks, the farmers were unable to manage crops. Few crops like Coriander, Fenugreek and onions needed ample amounts of water and the crop would get spoiled with less water supply or failed monsoon That is when Jaggu made a quick decision of building a windmill that would be able to harness wind energy and produce electricity when provided with required electrical appliances. He decided to put his 25 years of experience in the field of making windmills in USA.

Jaggu had worked for a company that manufactured and processed windmill technology. He even decided to set up a solar plant that would solve the problem of supplying electricity to agricultural fields. He was aware that the winds would blow strong during the months of May and October while the remaining months the Sunlight was very strong. So, wind energy through windmill and solar energy through solar panels would solve all the problems thereby helping the farmer to cultivate the land comfortably without un necessary toil and struggle. He decided to harness the power of two renewable natural energy sources and synchronise them for a much larger benefit. There was no need to tamper with any natural resources only the abundant sunlight and wind flow would be utilised to produce energy and thereby electricity . With the expert knowledge of one of his American friend who was his colleague, he bought magnets, copper wires, wood blocks, steel plates and some other raw materials from the scrap market. The entire work of making the windmill and solar panel took a month of rigorous, disciplined work under the guidance of his American friend and everything started to roll well. This is how the need or necessity of power to produce prompted people to prepare two of the most effective and efficient sources of energy proving the age old age 'Where there is a Will there is a way'.
