White Rose Pack (Chapter-45)
White Rose Pack (Chapter-45)
“Amy, we need to discuss something serious,” Colin started. Adina looked at the she-wolf in front of her and could see she had her eyes down and her hands fidgeted in her lap.
“You have shown disrespect to your future luna and this will not be tolerated,” Colin continued and at those words Amy instinctively looked at Adina with hatred, obviously thinking Adina had told Colin.
A deep, warning growl came from Colin, making Amy bow her head in submission.
“You will not look at your luna like that, you will not look at her period,” he growled.
Adina realized she liked he was so protective. Then she thought the thought went against her picture of herself as someone that could take care of herself. She ended up conflicted, but still she reached out and placed a hand on Colin’s hand to calm him.
Something had snapped in Amy. Adina could feel the emotions build in the she-wolf. Maybe they had been there for so long that now that Colin finally acknowledged them, she felt she had to do something.
“She is not my luna, she isn’t even marked. And you expect me to treat her with respect? If you can’t even bring yourself to mark her after all this time, she is not worthy of being your luna.” Amy rambled fanatically.
Colin roared and stood up so fast, and with such force, that the office chair was knocked into the bookcase behind it, scattering objects over the floor.
“You do not speak to me in such disrespect,” his voice carried anger and a threat of violence.
“You do not know what goes on between your alpha and your luna. Do not think that I need to explain my actions to a wolf like yourself.”
Amy had hit a sore spot when talking about the marking. It had sent Colin into a rage and Adina could sense it was just as much about him wanting to protect her as it was about anger.
Unfortunately, the topic of marking was a sore spot for Adina as well, and she was affected by it. Just not as much as Colin. But she could feel her anger, her wolfs anger as it tried to take control. This meant Adina couldn’t calm Colin. If she touched him now, she would fuel the anger rather than calm it.
Adina could see Colin preparing to jump over the desk to physically make the she-wolf submit. Amy looked terrified. Adina focused on the fear on her face and felt her anger drain from her. She controlled her wolf and put a hand on Colin.
“Colin, she got the message,” Adina said gently.
She closed her hand on Colin’s arm, tugging at him to look at her.
“Honey, look at me,” she kept her voice soft.
Colin finally seemed to hear her, and he turned around to look at her. She could see his golden wolf’s eyes and she smiled at him. Making sure he knew she felt safe. She looked into his eyes as they went back to their ice grey colour. He turned to
ward Amy.
“If I hear as much as a whisper or see as much as a side glance that contains any kind of disrespect, I will ban you from this pack,” he said coldly.
“Yes alpha,” Amy replied, eyes down and her neck exposed to show submission.
“You can go” he dismissed her and she all but ran out of the office.
A minute later, Mateo stuck his head in through the open door, looked at the mess, and then at Adina and Colin.
“Everything okay in here?” he asked.
Colin stood with both hands on his desk, leaning on them. Adina snuck under one of his arms so she was in between his arms, him, and his desk. She looked back at Mateo.
“Yes, everything is fine. Could you just close the door, please?” she asked calmly.
Mateo nodded and closed the door. Adina sat down on the edge of the desk, so she was facing Colin. He didn’t look up, so she placed her head on his shoulder, just taking in his scent.
“I shouldn’t have lost my temper,” Colin said, leaning his head on her shoulder.
“She shouldn’t have provoked you.” Adina replied.
“Thank you for protecting me,” she added. Colin huffed as if it wasn’t a big deal. “Don’t do that,” Adina said.
“It is a big deal for me. Sean is the only person who has stood up for me.” She placed a kiss on his shoulder.
“You are my mate. I will protect you with my life,” he said, and then with a sigh. “We need to talk about the marking”
“We do,” she agreed. “But not now. We both have too many emotions running ramped. It would be a bad idea. I suggest we go for a run. Then we can talk about it when we get back,” she suggested. Colin looked up at her.
“A run?” he said.
“Yes, it’s high time our wolves get to know each other, don’t you think? I know my wolf is getting impatient.” Adina said, lifting her head to look at him.
“I think that is a fantastic idea. I could really need a run,” he said with a faint smile.
“Let’s go,” Adina said enthusiastically.
She dipped under his arm again and tugged at it to make him follow her. Her joy made him chuckle as he let himself be pulled downstairs and out into the woods by her.
Adina stopped as the trees engulfed them. She didn’t know these woods, so she let her instincts guide her and trusted that Colin would stop her if she went the wrong way. Finally, he tugged back at her.
“This is a good place to change,” he said. “Ready?”
Adina nodded, and they took off their clothes. It wasn’t sexual this time. They were both filled with the desire to change more than anything. Adina felt her wolf struggling to come out.
When she was completely naked, she smiled at Colin and then she let the transformation happen. She felt the bone breaking; the skin stretching and the fur sprouting, and then she stood there in her wolf form.
