Trusting someone is considered to be a high level of intimacy. To have someone in your life with whom you can share everything from your day-to-day happenings to some of your dark secrets which you haven't told anyone before is no less than a special feeling to be cherished.

When you trust someone, you are actually sharing a part of your life with them. After you begin trusting someone with your life, you both are no longer two separate individuals rather you both are individuals with 2 different bodies and one soul.

While trusting someone is considered a great way to strengthen your relationship with someone, at the same time, lying to someone just to save yourself and in turn betraying your trust is considered nothing but just a way of telling the person you no longer want them in your life.

Your one lie can hurt them to such an extent that no matter how many times you apologize to someone, they won't ever get themselves to trust you ever again because that moment of you betraying their trust will continue to haunt them as long as you continue to maintain your relationship with them.

You might not find anything wrong in breaking someone's trust just to save yourself but the person whose trust you broke may never be able to trust anyone ever again for, after you, he'll feel that all people are the same and that none of them should be trusted. That person may begin to isolate himself from society and only trust himself with his secrets and his haunting past and scary future!
