The Sudden Twists
The Sudden Twists
Today morning has started in the same how it used to start, I woke up, refreshed up, had breakfast and headed myself to school. It was going so normal and hadn’t had new experiences as it was the same old friends, teachers and my casual looks towards my boy… you know what I mean? Anyways, I had a lot of fun as in the chit-chats, classes and lunch break with friends. Then around 2:30 in the afternoon I went back home, and I was simply laying on my bed and later on had some normal discussions with my family. Even my grandparents were there then so I was having wonderful time with them to. What else can I say, it’s just a normal and simply wonderful day. It was now 5pm and by 5:15 I usually meet my friend who is actually my junior and he is just like my bro, buddy kind of guy, anyways, we daily go on for 1 hour walk but today he was a bit busy, and he told he would join later on. So, I was like, Ok… Then with stiffness in thoughts and with focus I tied up my hair, tied my shoelace and headed myself with a view of a lovely walk.
I first went into a different colony as a warmup, then headed straight to a walking park which is near my home within 10 minutes. This park was built on a hill so it’s normal on one end and high rise on the other side. It was a beautiful park, filled with greenery, little-attractive flowers, and the soothing music as in natural chirping of birds, it’s just wonderful and lovely. There were also some classes going on then, its and athletics class, kids of age 12-18 were there. It was nice seeing everyone being so active and great in regard to their health. While I was observing this, then I saw boy of age around 10, I guess. At my first glance towards the boy I was considering him to be a part of the athlete class but by the end of my round in the park, I saw him keeping his belongings on the edge of man-hole which was near the corner of the park, I was bit concerned regarding him as in, there might be insects or some small animals popping up so I gently asked what he was doing in this place, by the time I listened an answer my friend called and asked where I was, I was about to tell him but he saw me from outside of the park itself so he came in and declined the call. Then I spoke with the boy again, he told me “I am looking for my mom from here through the binoculars and my house is right over there.” I was surprised.
Basically, there was one weird question popping in my head, ‘as who would spy on their mom?’, but I sounded gentle while I said to him to sit on the bench located in the middle of the park, but he was like he had to take a look at his mom and if he would sit on the bench, it wouldn’t be convenient from a long distance. I was like “Whoa!” in my mind but I didn’t want to sound offensive so I told him again that it wasn’t an ideal place to sit or stay in, it could also create some infections, I added. He was like, ‘Okay I will move.’ But he didn’t and meanwhile my friend joined in so, I started my walk again with him and narrated the incident to him. He was also in the same mood as I was. It was normal for us to react in this way as it wasn’t the one of the common reasons we usually listen to. However, while we were at the edge of the park, I saw that boy opening the small door of the trash can which was used to dump the dry leaves and all the garbage of the park and I was really curious as what he was doing, so I told my fri
end to go ahead, and I would join him bit later. I went to speak with the boy and asked him again what he was doing, and he replied he was bored as he has no one of his friends living here to spend some time with him. I felt really sorry for the little guy as he was a bit lonely then, so I offered him to join us for the walk. He was so happy and immediately replied yes so, I told him to pack his stuff and join us. Then I went ahead to meet my man and told him the situation and he was like a bit sorry for the boy but happy to be a part with him during our walk…
As he joined us, I started the conversation by asking his name and he said his name was Vijay and he was studying in class 5. Then we introduced ourselves and were happy to speak with him. Then I asked him how come he was actually sitting near then he opened up saying he was the only child for his parents and all his friends who used to live here were out of station or have been moved to a different location, so due to his mom’s pressure of saying that he has to go out, he did obey her and finally ended in the park trying to look through the binoculars for the time to pass. Then I was I like; he wasn’t some kind weirdo as I thought. I felt Vijay had some sense. Anyways he went on narrating his school life as how he was always in the top rank and what all extra activities he used to attend and how his parents were supportive with him in all ways. As he narrated, I felt he was one of the top-grade students at the school, meanwhile he started saying about his mom’s life and added a point as she had a tragic past. He said she and mother had a tough time with her dad as he an alcoholic and a man who uses all his resources to sell and gain him some money just to buy some drinks and he never cares about his family. From there on he said that she started her life bit in a tough zone but however managed to get a job at the same place where his father used to work and soon, they are where they are now, and I felt like, “Man! The couple was meant to be and that work – love was a nice concept of life and I hope I have the same love concept in my life”. Then I started to keenly listen again, where he was saying that his father’s family was all working as government officers and I was like I had an inspiration as I, myself wanted to try for the government position here in India… I was intrigued as he went on, but the conversation took a weird turn where he said his cousin who was an IAS officer had a horrifying past where her dad, literally hurt her mom with a beer bottle (GLASS) and I was literally dismayed and shook with that narration… It was legit crazy to listen all of this. Anyways the time was almost 5:30 in the evening, I and my friend had to leave and also Vijay, so we said our good-byes in the park, and we departed our own ways. While going to my home I and my friend were frankly stunted as how could a 10-year-old, this much confidently narrate his tragic life-story to 2 complete strangers who he met in the park, like literally an hour back. This incident was still in our minds and has been a great story to tell others and to listen their comments on this. LOL! However, I didn’t see Vijay since then and I have been wondering how he might be and really, I hope he is good and does something weird for us to again to listen to his narration again! Hope it happens again!
