The Power Of Truth

The Power Of Truth

I remember when Pastor Bloomer came to preach in our church. Now I heard him preach before but I didn't really know his testimony.

Pastor Bloomer was born poor, one of nine children in Brooklyn, New York. His father liked to run around and had 7 more children with other women in their neighborhood.

This was a tough enough upbringing but he was also a slow learner on top of this. He couldn't read until later in life, he had a horrible relationship with his mean grandmother and he was sexually abused as well. Later on in his life he was a coke head and smoked crack. He hit rock bottom, doing cocaine even while he was preaching God's word on the pulpit.

He tells his story to let everyone know that being Christian doesn't mean being perfect

We forget that God is not looking for perfect people, that God is looking for you, just as you are, broken, falling apart, far from perfect so that he can work his miracles in you and you can be a testimony to all he can do.

The Bishop also spoke about the power he took back by telling the truth to the world. So many people never tell their truth, so many people hid their mistakes not ever wanting people to know what they did. They are ashamed to let the world know and they keep their secrets safely locked away, deep in their closets.

I know this feeling and I can relate to this man's story as my story is so similar. I also grew up poor, my grandmother was a mean, bitter, negative woman who I thought hated me at times.

I was raped as a teenager and fell into drugs and alcohol addiction to mask my pain. For years my addiction was a secret as I was so ashamed. When I finally became clean I met my then husband who verbally abused me for 24 years and no one knew. This dirty little secret stayed in my closet with my other ones for years.

It wasn't until I gave my life over to God that I knew I needed to come clean about my secrets. I knew that there were women out there that were going through what I had gone through and needed to hear how I got passed all of this.

This opening up of my secret closet doors was scary to say the least but then I started to write about it, now that was really scary. But I knew God was there with me and I remembered his words in this bible verse.

Isaiah 41 10

"Fear not for I am with you be not not dismayed, for I am God I will strengthen you"

Bishop Bloomer spoke that this is the year to get everything that was taken from you back. Not to worry because the storms that come at you are there to strengthen you.

All the hell that you've been going through, God has orchestrated it to show you all he can do. How he can pull you through if you believe.

This year you must march into the enemy camp and take back what is yours. You must put on the garment of praise, you must give thanks to God as 2021 is the year of vision.

This year you need to spiritually protect yourself, your family and your business.  But you need to know that when God is going to work a miracle, he doesn't ask your permission he just does it.

See every person has something that has something happening to them, you are not alone even if you feel that way.

You may have to battle through your hard times and some people may come at you. They don't want you to tell your truth.

Sometimes people can be worse than evil spirits so you must know when it is time to let go…

So today my friends remember to take care of yourself and tell your truth.

Own what you did, let the world see that you are not perfect yet look at all God has done for you.

Once you let all the skeletons out of your closet, once you start telling your testimonies, once you start owning your story it is then you will know the power of your truth.
