The Little Raindrops

It was a day as pretty as it could have been. A gang of little raindrops woke up in their cloud, happy to be alive, happy to live in such a gorgeous blue home! Their days were full of joy and laughter and playing and bouncing around in the clouds. You wait and watch, I am going to defeat droopy in the race to cloud 9 said a little drop named drips. And my friends and I are going to the mountains on cloud fluffy! Said a drop named moisty. And we are going to make art with the colors of sunlight! Said another little drop named rainy. Today will be awesome! Come let's go said moisty. Err... Wait... We might have to work to do today said drips. Work? What work? Asked rainy. Look! Don't you think that patch of land is dry? And the leaves of the trees have become all dusty and dirty. Also, see there, the waterhole has become really small! It's time that we all went down there. Said drips. Can't we go tomorrow? I had my entire day planned, said moisty. Come on moisty, if we all do it together work will be so much fun, our friends on earth need us, said rain. Fine, we should go and gather everyone. If we don't get together, none of us will be able to get a thing done. That's the spirit rainy! Said drips. Down below, the world was really struggling in the heat and lack of water. Every animal, bird, and humans were waiting for the raindrops to come. The animals and birds couldn't drink water and were thirsty. Because of no rain, human cultivation couldn't be done and there was a famine. Up in the clouds, rainy was whistling for everyone to gather around. Soon all the millions of raindrops in all floating clouds gathered in the sky before rainy, drips, moisty. Hello everyone look at the condition of earth said moisty. All the raindrops look down. Oh! The situation is bad said one drop. 

The earth badly needs us now, said another one. Yes, they do! All of us need to go to the earth to help our friends there. Everyone get ready! Said drips. Yeah! Yeah! Ho ho yeah! Alright! Said all the drops happily. Soon all raindrops were ready to go down to the earth. Raindrops! Dive now! To the earth! Said rainy and all the raindrops dived to the earth. Thousands of them in great sheets of rain. The trees, flowers, birds, animals, and birds saw them approach and welcomed them heartily. They all felt refreshed and thanked all raindrops for coming. The little army of raindrops soaked the soil making the roots swell with health, making the trees grow greener and bigger, making fresh new luscious grass grow. Filling the water holes. Then the raindrops collected in the little rivulets that flowed to the fields and farms. Even the tired humans and parched farmlands welcome the rain. As crops began to grow and the sun's scorching heat eased down. Together the little raindrops gave the earth a gorgeous renewal of life and happiness! They flowed happily till one day they reached the greatest expanse of water there ever was, the mighty ocean. Happily, the drops swam and surfed on the waves. Their job on earth was done. So, the sun came to pick them up to take them back home. Its rays shone over the ocean. One by one the drops climbed on the rays and finally, the sun dropped them back to their mushy cloud dwellings in the sky.
