FDA…for or against us?

I was watching this documentary on Netflix called The Bleeding Edge. It's about all of the products that are approved by the FDA and are supposed to be safe for everyone to use.

We rely on the FDA to make sure that these products are safe but really it's the government and like everything else in the government, it's all about the money. They don't care about our safety at all and this documentary definitely proves that.

They spoke about hip and knee replacement and the new sockets that they came out with. These people who had these implants suddenly had problems with their memories, with their balance and with pain after they received these new sockets in their body. These products contain cobalt and because of that, they cause tissue to disintegrate.

There are currently 65,000 lawsuits against Johnson and Johnson for hip and mesh patients.

Even with all of this knowledge, the industry continues to recommend hips containing cobalt.

There are now more than 10 million people worldwide who currently have hips, knees and shoulders with cobalt.

There was also a new birth control that's out in the market that's called Ensure, that has been causing thousands of women non stop bleeding, headaches, pain and multiple surgeries to remove it. They can also go on to having failed pregnancies and even deaths in infants from this device.

They passed it through the FDA with only one study and with less than 50 women in this study compared to drugs that have to get approved. They have to go through 2 studies and they have thousands of people in those studies.

There is also a mesh that has been used on millions of people for hernias and in women to help stop leakage.

These were also cleared by the FDA and they didn't even require human studies.

Even as the doctors told Johnson and Johnson this was not safe but still it was put on the market.

In the past decade mesh lawsuits have cost Johnson and Johnson more than 300 million. But big deal, as they made a total revenue of 683 billion, yes, billion with a B, so they don't care.

The FDA has a voluntary system of reporting problems and there are huge problems with self reporting complications. If a doctor sees a problem, he does not have to report it. The only bodies that are required to report adverse events are the companies and of course they're not going to do that. It's recorded that only 3 to 4% of the problems get reported to the FDA.

So you don't know if there's any adverse effects until months or years after the product's been out on the market. Doctors aren't going to say anything because

Medical companies have paid doctors more than 2 billion dollars alone in 2016.

So yes, even doctors are pushing these devices every day.

When the doctors and scientists working with the FDA spoke out against certain products with problems they were fired or let go. A congregational investigation found the FDA had even installed spying devices on their computers to retaliate against the whistle blowers.

So today my friends before you have surgery remember to research any device that will be used on or in you.

Get a second opinion

Ask your surgeon how many procedures they have performed.

Have a friend or family member advocate while you're in the hospital.

And to see if your doctor has been paid by a medical device company go to openpaymentsdata.cms.gov

You must be your own advocate, because the FDA clearly isn't going to, we must all be the change we want to see.
