So Sorry

So Sorry

The other day I happened to chance upon my friend and erstwhile professional colleague of a Research & Development institute where i worked earlier for several years before quitting it to take up a new consultancy assignment. I was meeting this friend & ex-colleague of mine after almost two decades and hence we were naturally excited to know about each other.

I asked him how he was doing in the second innings of his life. He replied confidently that he had no complaints whatsoever and no regrets at all in life, because he always had the last word in any argument or debate with his wife. His remark made me curious & also little jealous to be brutally honest. Hence I found myself asking him as to what was the last WORD that he always had with his wife. He replied without batting an eyelid : "SORRY".

There was a pin-drop silence for one minute after which my friend concluded by saying : "In other words, it also meant that my wife always had the last "laugh" in any argument or debate with me".

This was the success story of my friend's second innings of his life. This indeed was a "sorry" state of affairs prevailing at all households & sweet homes. Not that my story was anything different from his !

Is this the dawn of Naari shakti or is this the other side of Naari shakti which was not visible till recently ?

All said and dusted, I for one welcome & support woman domination and woman empowerment which is the urgent need of the post-pandemic hour. Like it or not, women are here to stay and get noticed. Women are here to make their mighty presence felt. Women are here to be accountable to the society and to the nation at large. All this is good news.

But the only bad news is that Women are here to stay as MEN !!
