In this Era of OTT (over The Top) platforms where we have all types of world cinema, different genres available whether it is Korean, South Indian, American, Spanish, etcetera. I don’t think of any of the disadvantages these platforms offer and provides us a better source of entertainment but ONE.

The fun of watching the creative advertisements is what we are missing because of this source of entertainment. Whether it is that creative advertisement of Fevicol, having the most awesome tagline “PAKDE REHNA CHODNA NAHI”(Be there, don’t leave), OR the most loving ad of the whole country, that of a washing powder Nirma.

In these category of fun advertisements , my personal favourite is of Cadbury’s 5 star’ Ad , featuring two iconic characters Ramesh and Suresh. As it’s an established fact from the advertisement that both these are lazy, idle, sluggish and all the synonyms of these words one can think of.

Fortunately once I got the chance to sneak a peek into the lives of Ramesh and Suresh. There was a contest organized by the Cadbury company called as “montu’s chocolate factory”. In this contest whoever got the lucky coupons in the chocolate wrapper will get the chance to spend a full week with their favorite Characters and a full day tour at company’s chocolate factory where all the characters , who are ever featured in the advertisements of chocolate lives and the winners also got to chose their favorite characters among all and they could spend the whole week with them .

I was one of the winners of that contest so I was super excited to meet my favourite characters “Ramesh and Suresh” live a whole week with them.

On the Red letter day I wake up early, packed my stuff and start for the location to catch the bus as we were instructed on the Email. I reached at the pickup site on time and after 5 minutes, a bus made of chocolate came to pick us. After an hour of travelling through tunnels, big bridges, we were standing at the entrance of the chocolate factory. We were welcomed by the top management officials of the company and then a two wheeler vehicle with a cart and instead of horses, there were two dogs with the nameplate of “hello” and “Chalo” took us inside the chocolate factory. It was the most amazing and wonderful view I had ever seen in my whole life and trust me I have gone to places which are compared by heaven by most people.

There were different huts, where the characters’ live their lives with their families. There was a river of chocolate, flowing in the middle of factory whose origin was from a giant mountain which, I don’t think I have to mention here that was made from chocolate only. There was a lava of hot chocolate flowing on one side of the factory .

While I was looking all these with my eyes, heart and all my veins wide open. Suddenly the cart was stopped by the angry driver(remember the character of angry driver from the five star Ads who shouts at a boy ,who is standing in the middle of the road and enjoying his 5star, so the driver shouts at him “OHH!!!!! Hello chalo). We were standing at the entrance of a hut having a shining nameplate on its top saying “Ramesh Suresh”. The driver looked at me and shouts with anger ”Ohh!! Hello, chalo. I quickly took my bag and move myself out of the cart.

With my bag on my shoulder I was standing at the entrance of their door. I knocked the door and to my surprise nobody came to see me even after 30 minutes. Then, a guy (a teenager) who was passing from there carrying a rose and a chocolate hamper told me to go inside as both Ramesh and Suresh are too lazy to receive you. I smiled at him and show my gratitude by saying thank you. He replied with a welcome and leave and in the next moment I remembered that he is the boy Valentine’s day advertisement.

I went inside the hut and saw Ramesh and Suresh eating chocolate and doing nothing, LITERALLY nothing. In my whole life, many a times I heard this statement from many people that they are not doing anything, but this was the first time I was witnessing it with my eyes that how somebody can just do nothing at all.

I couldn’t control my excitement and hugged them. They smiled at me, told me by their facial expressions to sit on the bean bag, and offered me 5star to enjoy with them.

Both my excitement and Energy level were polarized with both of them. When we were chilling inside their hut, someone from the marketing team of the company came to give both of them the Last reminder to leave for the airport to shoot their next advertisement. They heard him, smiled at him and then again got busy in doing nothing. The next moment I saw the angry driver came, carried them both on his shoulder and placed them in the cart. The marketing manager asked me if I want to travel with them and be the part of the next ad with Ramesh and Suresh.

What does a blind man Wants? Two eyes ,right.

So I went with them. When we were standing at the airport waiting for the flight, the manager gave three-three 5stars to both of them. The manager told us to wait outside the airport until the driver comes with the luggage. We were standing at the airport, waiting. Ramesh opened one of his chocolate and start to enjoy but Suresh Said that he is saving all these for his journey.

Out of the Blue a Magician came and stood in front of us and asked us if we are interested in a watching a trick or two. We told him that we don’t have anything to give him as reward for his trick so he shouldn’t waste his time there. He told us that he is hungry and what he wants, are the chocolates pointing out at the chocolates and requested both of them if they could share their chocolates with him. Suresh without wasting one second took out his chocolates to share them with magician but Ramesh didn’t.

Suresh told Ramesh to share the chocolates with him but he refused and said that “You are always like this, an emotional fool, and “whatever one gets, keeps it”.

The magician said that he don’t want their chocolates for free , he has some unique coins with him, whose cost is in millions but money does not excites him anymore, and only in learning the magic tricks he wants to live the rest of his life. So, after hearing all this, Ramesh, while eating a chocolate, gave his rest two chocolates to the magician. They shared the chocolates equally and enjoyed it.

The magician showed his gratitude towards both of them and was saying nice words but interrupted by Ramesh in between .

Ramesh: We are getting late for our flight, please give our coins and you can leave. The magician smiled and gave coins to both them in their hands and leave after saying thank you to both of them. I was watching all this from a distance as I had to collect the boarding pass for all three of us.

After collecting the pass, I went to them and asked about the coins. Ramesh told me in anger that He got only two coins and Suresh got three coins, this is not fair at all.

I also nodded my head, expressing my agreement with Ramesh that “Yeah it’s true, this is not fair”. A smile spread on Ramesh’s face. I said that I’m ready to do the justification in this case but the only condition here is that whatever decision I will take, it has to be accept by both of them.

Ramesh in greed of more coins agreed and Suresh just want to end the fight so agreed.

I said that three of you had shared a total of five chocolates and as you were total three persons , so you must have cut down each chocolate into three pieces , now in total you have 15 pieces to share among three of you and each one of you got five-five pieces of chocolate. Am I Correct?

They both replied: Absolutely correct.

I continued saying that Suresh from his three chocolates (nine pieces) gave four pieces to magician and Ramesh from his two chocolates (six pieces) gave one piece to magician. So Suresh should get four coins and Ramesh should get one coin and then I distribute the coins between them accordingly.

Meanwhile the manager also came who was listening to my judgement, patted my back and praised me for my intelligence. I felt overwhelmed by his praise and then we took our flight.

I enjoyed that chocolaty week very much and while leaving the factory after a week, I made a very good friend name Suresh and a not so good friend Ramesh. While leaving the factory, the marketing manager gave me a king size chocolate hamper which I was going to share with my elder brother.

On the way of my home I was smiling for no reason and remembering the last week and was lost in those chocolaty moments. Suddenly, I heard my father’s voice and saw a blurred image of him lifting a bucket full of water, to throw it at me.

Suddenly My smile got disappeared and I, with scare, jump out of my bed, screaming “SAVE WATER SAVE WATER” and “ IF THERE IS WATER , THEN THERE IS TOMORROW” and ran straight to the bathroom to get ready for my school.

While brushing my teeth, the only thought I had in my mind at that time was

HOW MUCH FUN IT WILL BE, IF THE WHOLE WORLD BECOMES WITH CHOCOLATE.

KITNA MAZA AAYE RE, DUNIYA KI CHOCOLATE KI BAN JAAYE RE.
