Hero, this word immediately brings to our mind a tall and handsome person who can sing, dance, fight, save from villains and so on. Of course, this is how we identify with the term 'Hero' as we watch them on the big screen with awe and adulation. This is right to the extent that we get carried away into a make-believe world for sometime. Definitely needed to rejuvenate oneself. But we do find Real life heroes who do their work for the sake of others and Society on the whole silently mostly without any fanfare. Infact these people can be termed as the silent warriors. This is the story of one such Hero who went on to make a huge change in the lives of underprivileged when he himself was not so well off.

This story targets the scenes that took place in a remote village of South India.

Rajan was busy early in the day that was a normal routine every day. He does not work in a corporate office; he does not wear suite and coat but his work itself is his trademark. He was always interested in providing food, cloth and other facilities to the needy. His income was not so extravagant where he could spend it for others needs forsaking his own requirements sometimes. His wife and children used to grumble initially but once they understood how dedicated he was towards this because they lent their co-operation in whatever way possible. Rajan used to keep one third of his income to attend to these needs. He used to work extra hours to complement his meagre salary. He used to do service at different NGO centres that would help him to expand his contacts and get some monetary benefits not for himself but for number of orphans he had support.   This continued for many years and Rajan realised that he could make better arrangments for the needy orphans if he started an Orphanage. Yes, he did it. He opened an Orphanage named Parivatan that started providing shelter to the abandoned children. They would be nurtured with all care. He used to provide for the routine requirement like milk, clothes, medicines when needed etc. He even employed an old lady who could look after these kids. She was okay with a minimum salary and food. The centre went on to become well known for the services provided to the innocent children who were orphans.

Then something very nice transpired. Rajan was recognised by the Collector who had come on a transfer to that town where Rajan stayed. He was a philanthropist who had come up in life the hardway. He released funds that could help Rajan and his team to buy all requirements that could make the life of the young children comfortable. He even approached few public sector companies and banks to support this cause. The Companies and Banks under corporate social responsibility scheme sanctioned some funds and also provided in kind.       ....

Yes, Rajan is a true Hero who stood by the needy not to become famous, rich or well-known. He did this genuinely that got reflected in his work and everywhere he interacted. Do you agree he is a real hero?
