Of Sons and Promises

Have you ever wondered if you had only sons?

House full of boys, all out with blazing guns!

Dirty socks and uniforms always piled up on the floor,

And things scattered everywhere, their room is an eyesore!

Growing up boys means cooking snacks and meals,

Their hunger pangs and appetite does your 'me-time' steal!

Running and jumping all over the place,

Of maturity and understanding , there's not a single trace!

About serious studying there is absolutely no inclination,

But for the girls in the class there is a lot of attraction!

Days spent in pursuits and nights in dreaming,

Happily goes their time in self deceiving !

But then, as they say, boys mature late,

Like a seed buried long, they finally germinate!

Shouldering the responsibility of a whole family,

Elders of the house never tire praising their sagacity!

 Boys will be boys, whatever you say,

They are forever with you, while the girls go away!

Loving and caring they with their aging parents stand,

And are unfailingly on the spot to lend a helping hand!
