Melissa- The Student

The camera was set on the table. She sat on a marked spot and faced the camera. 

With a cheerful smile on her face, she took a deep breath and said, “Kevin sir, today is the Finale. Performing a blindfolded ballet never crossed my mind. But you had faith in me. So, I want to start by thanking you.”

She clamped her lips tight and looked anywhere but the camera. “Okay, I want to tell you something which is totally unrelated. I had a conversation with God. You know I do that when I’m alone and sad. Since morning, there were a number of things that happened. My eyes were bleeding, vomiting and everything was bad. So, while talking to God, I asked God Why? This day is so special…” She sniffed.

“And… God said… Melissa, I love you and I’ll keep loving you. I know what is best for you.”

Two tears like crystal pearls flowed down her cheeks and her voice seemed caught in her throat as she said, “I… I heard you talk with Raven. Why did you…?” She wiped her tears and looked at the camera.

She gazed at the screen for a minute.

“I don’t think I can speak anymore. As it is, I have to get ready for my performance. I…” She got up and in a moment the screen went blank.
