Is It Wrong?

I have been married for nearly 3 years now. I know how the majority of marriages end. Something keeps me from believing it to be mine. First, they fall for you, then they cling to you, send you flowers, and write letters, but eventually end up being bored and lost. That is when they find someone, someone more energetic than you, and things start to change.

You see him on the phone more often, you find him stealing smiles, the face glows when he sees her, try and suppress it when you spot him smiling, the phone’s light never goes off until late at night, the notification chime never stops ringing, you find him clicking pictures, and then the smile increase with each passing day; you find him drifting inch-by-inch, to a world of his own.

And then the friends notice, and they are quick to point out the never-ending happiness, for he could never be found as happy as he is today.

All of a sudden, you find her everywhere in his life, pulling your marriage apart, destroying it like cancer.

All of it is enough to make you sick until one fine day he decides to tell you about her. Tell you that he has never felt this surge of love before and that he has never loved someone as much before. And then your stomach will start to crumble, the ground will shift from beneath your feet, and your whole World will be falling apart.

I had to stop this from happening. How could I let a little birdie take my life away? I loved my husband so much. And it was this love that compelled me to take matters into my own hands. What sort of a wife would I be if I let someone steal away my life, my marriage?

It took me a while, but I was able to strangle her. I thank my stars she was too little to walk, let alone resist.

I wonder why, though. The world is mad at me for doing that and keeps calling me a witch. Is it wrong to save one's marriage?
