Fond rememberances

Year 2006 Shammi had shifted to a new city as her husband was on a transfer to a new place in western India.The city was so happening and lively Shambavi and her husband settled in a new house along with their young kids who were School going.All set,life was quite enjoyable.Kids were busy with their School,karate classes,music classes etc.Shammi too had her own busy schedule that was keeping her engaged most of the time,but she was managing it well This continued for sometime.After a few weeks Shammii and her husband went around the city to check some shopping and entertainment along with the kids.There was huge multiplex and associated shopping mall.Kids were excited.Shammi and her hubby sat at a Cafe within the mall and were observing the kids Shammii decided to walk along the multiplex and check the Shops that were supposed to be offering some discounts on Shopping.Amidst this she notices a Counter that had a Smart looking lady making some entries into a book and few people waiting in a queue.Out of curiosity she goes near the counter and reads the banner that was related to School and it was a walk in interview process of teachers that was going instantly she gets herself registered and informs this to her husband who was little bit apprehensive about the whole matter.Shammi forgot about this and got busy with her daily routine.After a month or so she gets a call from the admin of the School to attend an interview at a Scheduled place on a particular date .Shammi was so happy and coaxes her husband to take her to the spot where the interview would be conducted.Since the day would be. Sunday ,her husband and kids too accompanied her so that they would go to a movie after she was done with the interview.            

Shammi gets ready,carries all her certificates etc.and attends the interview.After many rounds she gets selected and was placed at a well known residential school.It was an all boys School who were mostly NRI kids who were put here to learn little bit about Indian traditions along with good education.Shammi had to teach English.She was doing well and kids were picking up her lessons well and performing well academically.Management was pleased with her performance and gave her quick increments .This ofcourse annoyed her colleagues (jealousy) you see.Ok so that was it.After some time Shammi noticed few students forming groups among themselves and trying to hurt fellow students.She understood it might have been happening in the hostels too where these students were staying ofcourse within the School campus.Shammi was concerned because many of them were good students academically and otherwise too.She tried to talk sense that fell on deaf ears.She even approached the hostel management who were not too eager to listen to her,maybe they had their own limitations.    .. .     

One day Shammi was teaching English to her younger son.His text book had a very simple lesson about how animals fought amongst themselves and approached the king of the jungle (lion) who gives the judgement not to fight and live amicably.Shammi got a very bright idea.She kept it to herself.In the coming months the School was planning an annual day ceremony.Every student had to participate in the event.Shammi had a discussion with the School Principal about what she was planning.He was very support of her idea Shammi prepared a skit based on her child's text book lesson.She wrote simple dialogues suitable for all kids in her class and got the management's approval.Now came the task of selecting students who would play the roles as per her script.She selected students who were fighting against each other and made them into a team.First step put wisely.Then the students were to attend practice sessions after their School hours.Everything planned well and the session began.

Now let me come to the script .The story begins with the scene in a forest where animals fight amongst each other and approach the king expressing their regret that they had to live on a forest instead of a city where life was so rosy and full of fun.On hearing this the king of the jungle, passes the judgement that these animals will have to move out of the forest .They will go towards a nearby city.When the animals go to a nearby city they observe how messy it is.People are fighting each other for money, religion,caste,creed, faith and what not.The animals observe life was so bad because of intolerance and hatred among people.Nobody could tolerate other persons betterment,they tried to pull them down given a chance.Animals realise humans are leading a worst life and nothing was so rosy nor pleasant in the city.They realise it is a mirage and go back to the forest happily.This script struck like a bolt to all the students who were warring with each other for no reason They realised what mistake they did and tried to come back to terms with each other.Ofcourse it was not an easy task.It took time .But could become possible as time passed Shammi never attributed this change entirely to her script and direction but she was definitely appreciated by the management for her effort.More than everything Shammi herself felt happy for she could contribute in Some way to relieve tensions and bring some normalcy .

As a teacher it was her duty to teach good values to her students who would be future citizens She did her duty rest was to be best.
