On April 26 2021

I woke up in the morning with some irritation in the throat and headache. It was my summer vacations going on, so I didn't have school. When it was afternoon, I went to the main door, opened it and went outside, but as soon as I went outside, I heard my Neighbor speaking to someone, she was saying something like this " So the test will be done right? 48 hours okay and what if she is positive? Quarantine! Okay let's get it done for 3 people my daughter, my mother and father. Okay...We will see about the others later. When I heard this, I rushed to tell my parents. They jumped from their seats when they heard it. I hope you understood what our neighbor said. Their child was having covid like symptoms and they wanted to get a test done! We had only two options, either flee from here or stay here and face the disease, but then it was a peak of the disease. So we decided to flee. We had to flee on the same day itself because, there was a lockdown announced from the next day which was for 14 days. We packed our bags as soon as we could and as it was a working day, my parents had their office going but we had to flee in that time itself.

We decided that we will be going to my grandmother's house. My uncle and my Aunt were also living there. I had dinner early and also decided to sleep early because my head started aching a lot and I thought that if I sleep early, then maybe it would stop. But, here began the terror. At around 3 am, my body was heating up slowly. My temperature rose to 102 º Fahrenheit. My mom spent the whole night putting some cold cloths packs on my head. This was the day when I had the highest fever in my life. In the morning my throat was paining and I still had fever. Slowly I spread it to almost everyone except my grandmother who was diabetic.

My uncle, My aunt, My mom, My father were all infected. We went to my doctor at first and he said that it was a normal fever and no RTPCR test was required. Once we returned, I saw a message which said that my neighbors were Covid positive. I suddenly, started to feel," am I infected with covid?,then what did the doctor say? He said that RTPCR was not required. Why? It was my father's birthday in the beginning of the month of May. We celebrated it, though my uncle and aunt were not feeling well, they tried to give their best and made the day special for my dad. 2 days after my dad's birthday was another bad day... it started...My father woke up later than usual.

After he woke up he went to the dinning table to drink some tea with biscuits...My mom was there as well. Suddenly, My father started, "I am having a very different feeling don't know why". He suddenly fell of the chair unconscious his teeth were tightly holding each other... My uncle came running to hold him and my aunt got some water and they started sprinkling it over his face, my grand mother and mother got the chair and made him sit over there. They were literally crying. After a few seconds his eyes opened... I tightly hugged him at that moment. When we asked him what had happened? He was completely blank. My aunt got his blood pressure checked. Thank God, It was all normal... My uncle took an appointment for the doctor and my grandmother prepared some food immediately before they could leave. My aunt and my uncle took a leave from office so that they could come along. After breakfast the four left leaving me and grandmother home.

The doctor said that a MRI scan is required.

MRI?

Yes and if any problem is found, then he has to admitted immediately. We went for MRI scan and got the report at around 6 in the evening. The report... thank god that everything was fine. We took it to the doctor once again and he checked and said that everything was fine, prescribed some medicines as well. After few days we all started getting better but after a couple of days...

My grandmother's oxygen dropped a bit, we took her to the doctor he asked us to get tested. After a few days her report tested +ve and that is how we know that we were infected by covid though we didn't test ourselves. We checked her oxygen regularly to be on the safer side, thank god that she started to feel better and after 14 days her quarantine ended. She was a bit unlucky because her birthday was in between her quarantine. But we didn't forget celebrate it after 14 days though. By around May 30th we were all fine and fit thank god that we are all safe.

The only advantage that I see is that I not only me but al of us got some immunity that is protecting me now. When I think about all these I feel guilty because I was the one who spread this to not only to my parents but to my aunt, uncle and grandmother as well. I hope all of us stay safe from this disease. My best wishes to all and thanks for reading the whole story of a true incident that I faced.
