Dog Adoption

In the USA lived a man named Ritesh, though he was Indian he lived there due to his work. He lived with his wife Evelyn, daughter Emma and son Kyle. Emma was elder than Kyle. Emma and Kyle always quarrelled with each other but there was love and happiness amongst them. 

But there was always one complaint of Emma and Kyle that why are their mom and dad not allowing to adopt a dog. Ritesh and Evelyn always said no to adopting a dog and said that they shouldn't discuss this topic anymore. But Emma and Kyle always asked the reason for saying no to this. One day Ritesh scolded Emma and Kyle very badly and said I don't need any further discussion on this topic. Also after this Emma and Kyle didn't stop they always asked their mom about this. But their mom also never gave permission. 

One morning Kyle said to Emma "Sister, I have an idea through which we can know the reason why mom and dad are not giving permission for adopting a dog". Emma said "Amazing, please tell the idea fast but I am not going to talk to dad because you know how he scolded us before. So I think we should talk to mom". Kyle said, "Don't worry Emma. We are going to talk to mom. My idea is that we would ask the reason to mom and if mom doesn't give the answer then we won't go to school". Emma said, "That's a nice idea". Kyle said, "So let's go and implement it". They went to the kitchen where Evelyn was. Both said to Evelyn "Mom please tell us the reason why we can't adopt a dog and mom if you don't tell it then we won't go to school". Evelyn said, "Emma and Kyle you again are asking that thing. Well whatever you do I won't tell the reason and also today is your project submission and if you don't submit it then there is punishment for that". Emma said, "Oh! Mom I just forgot all about it. I don't wanna get punishment I am definitely going to school". Emma went to her room. Kyle screamed "Sister what you have done!" Then they both went to school but Kyle was very upset. Evelyn also felt very bad because she scolded Emma and Kyle. 

In school, at recess, Kyle met Emma and said to her "Sister you just ruined the plan". Emma said, "Project submission was more important than the plan and also X-Mas holidays are coming so be happy". Kyle said, "Sister I am promising you and myself that I would celebrate this year's Christmas with the dog nor I won't celebrate Christmas". Emma said, "Kyle, this holiday let's be happy and why are you doing this". Kyle said, "If you wanna assist me then it's ok but if you don't wanna assist then it's fine as well because I can do it myself". Emma said, "Kyle I am with you. I also want to know the reason why mom and dad are not allowing to adopt a dog. So I am with you". Then with confidence, they were going to their home on the bus when the bus suddenly stopped and all the children had to call their mom and dad to pick them up from there but Emma and Kyle's home wasn't very far away from there so that's why they walked from there to reach their home. In the middle of the road, Emma and Kyle found a puppy, it was very cute. Then suddenly a car was passing in that lane and it was on its way to going over the puppy. Emma and Kyle saw this and they ran very fast to rescue the puppy and finally, the puppy was saved. Both of them saw the puppy he was really scared but Emma and Kyle gave the puppy some biscuits and water and the dog ate it. Kyle said, "Sister, I have an idea that in which we can celebrate Christmas with a dog". Emma said "What's the idea"? Kyle said "Let's take this puppy to home and we would hide it and then on Christmas day we can celebrate Christmas with it. And nobody would know about this". Emma said, "But what about the reason I want to find out the reason". Kyle said, "Don't worry after Christmas we would ask and if they don't answer us then we would show the puppy and of course after that mom and dad would tell the answer". Emma said, "I guess it's ok, this idea is perfect. But first we need to find out if this puppy is someone's and it's lost". Kyle said, "There is a Dog Adoption centre there so I guess it would have come here". Emma said, "Still we are in doubt we should confirm it". For confirmation, they went to the centre and they saw their cousin sister Marida. They greeted her and she also greeted them. Marida said, "What happened, you both here"? Emma said, "We are here because we think that this puppy is lost and we thought it may have just come on the road". Marida said, "Thanks Emma and Kyle this is our centre's puppy and you brought back here, that's wonderful". Kyle said, "But please let us borrow this puppy until Christmas and then we would adopt it". Marida first said no to this but then she agreed. And then Emma and Kyle kept the puppy's name, Johnny. 

Then they kept Johnny in a box and went to their home they were very happy. When they came home Evelyn said, "What's in the box and from where did you find it"? Kyle said "Our teacher gave us some important books to keep it safe because he didn't bring his bag so as I am class monitor he gave me the box and also mom don't touch it because there are very important books in this box". Evelyn agreed. Then Emma and Kyle went to their rooms and then came into the living hall and ate some snacks. And then Kyle said "Sister, let's go outside to play and let's also take Johnny for a walk". Emma agreed. And after some time they went into the room and secretly brought the box. Then they went to the playground. And played with Johnny. Emma said "Kyle we need to do something because we have just got one week only for Christmas and after that Marida would take Johnny and I don't want this puppy to go". Kyle said "Don't worry. Now let's go home then we would think something". Both of them went home and kept the box in their room. After that they washed their hands and Evelyn called them "Emma and Kyle come in the living room". They both came there and Evelyn said, "Emma and Kyle, your Grandma and Grandpa are coming tomorrow morning and they will stay here up to Christmas". When Emma and Kyle heard the news they were very happy. Today Ritesh came home early and also brought sweets. In this excitement, Emma and Kyle forgot all about Johnny. Then everybody had dinner and went to sleep. 

The next morning the whole family woke up early even Kyle who doesn't wake up so early. Ritesh and Kyle went to the airport to pick up them from there. Evelyn and Emma stayed home and decorated the house. After some time, Ritesh and Kyle came with Grandpa and Grandma. Evelyn and Emma welcomed them. They came inside and sat on the couch. Evelyn served them breakfast there. Everybody talked happily and Grandma and Grandpa also brought gifts for everybody and they gave those. Everything was going nice when suddenly some barking of dogs came. And Grandma said, "Have you kept a dog in your house"? Evelyn and Ritesh said no. Then Evelyn said, "It's just the street dogs and nothing. Emma and Kyle go and get those dogs outside the gate". Both went there but they were confused that what's the matter if dogs are barking and also mom said to go and stop them. They went there and got the dogs outside the gate. But still barking noises were coming. Grandma said, "It's not the street dogs because noise is coming from here". Emma and Kyle were standing outside and listening to this. And they knew that it was Johnny. Grandma said "Evelyn, I know, you kept the dog because you are a foreigner and in here keeping dogs is very normal but in India it's not and this is very wrong, dogs are impure they can't live around the house or in the house. Well, whatever just stop this barking noise". Emma and Kyle listened to it and now they knew what was the reason why they can't adopt a dog. They were very sad that this was the ideology of their Grandparents. They went inside their room and took Johnny out and brought them in front of everybody and said "This is Johnny, a dog. We have heard what Grandma said now. And we don't think it is correct because this ideology is wrong that dogs are impure, they are very cute and cuddly. Just look at Johnny for one time. Yes, we are not living in India but we know Indian culture because mom had told us everything about India and we know that dog was the first animal to go to heaven. The dog is known as a friend. So we request you, Grandma and Grandpa, that you accept this dog and today we shall go to adopt it because we found it on a road, saved it from a road accident and then we knew it was the Dog Adoption centre's puppy and it was lost and Marida works there and we have taken this puppy until Christmas and we have promised that we would adopt this puppy. So we request you Grandma and Grandpa please give permission to adopt it because we know that because of your ideology mom and dad didn't give permission so please give us permission. Just look at this puppy and tell us your decision, Grandma and Grandpa". Everybody there looked at the dog then Grandma and Grandpa both accepted that their ideology was wrong and they should adopt the dog. They went to the Dog Adoption centre immediately and visited Marida. And Marida said, "I knew Emma and Kyle you would prove this ideology wrong and would adopt this puppy". Everybody felt proud of Emma and Kyle and everybody praised them for their work. Then some formalities were done so that it would be proof that this dog is adopted. Then Grandma, Grandpa, Ritesh, Evelyn, Emma, Kyle and Johnny went to their home. And played with Johnny and had lots of fun. And finally, Kyle's promise was fulfilled. After that, they lived happily with Johnny and had an amazing Christmas.

So this was a fun yet life lesson teaching story that dogs and every single animal is cute in its own way and anyone can keep a pet animal and I hope that those people that have this like ideology are feeling bad right now, after reading this story and I guess they would rectify this mistake.
