This is a story based on an incident that happened with a friend of mine who is a Doctor. The incident tickles your funny bones for sure. So keep reading and giggling if you want. Remember to smile it is free no cost no EMI also.

Good morning Doctor wished the receptionist the minute Dr. Suri entered his clinic. It was situated in a very busy locality in Chandigarh. He was a very punctual and reliable Doctor whom all the residents in his locality respected. He was very cordial and a gentle human being. Apart from the good treatment he provided to his patients, he was good at counselling too. And the meagre consultation fee he charged was an added attraction. So, the queue at his Clinic was most of the time very long. People waited patiently for their turn.

So, on a Monday morning the scenario was the same. The receptionist had issued tokens of their appointment with Dr. Suri. He got on his duty and busily checked most of them. By 12. 30 pm he was almost through with all the patients, when he noticed a frail looking, gentleman who was neatly dressed, with a well kept hair waiting for his turn eagerly. Dr. Suri felt that the person seemed to be tensed. . Now, it was the turn of that very person. On being called that person entered Dr. Suris cabin, wished him politely and sat down on the chair beside Dr. Suri. Dr Suri asked him 'yes what is the issue"? Mr. x the tensed patient said " Dr. my health is not ok for the past three days. please check and prescribe some medicines. " Ok let me see said Dr. Suri. How is your hunger are you eating well ? He asked. In reply Mr. x no doc I had to take Liv , 52 for stomach related issue" (!!!). Oh that is ok said the Doctor surprised a little bit that the patient knew about that particular medicine. But when you have Google what is the big thing to browse about simple medications he thought. Did you feel feverish today ? He questioned, in reply Mr. x said yes, i immediately took Dolo and felt better.

Oh that is nice said Dr. Suri again wondering how aware that patient was. Mr. x even mentioned that it was Dolo 650 mg in precise. Now Dr. Suri said then you go for a full body check up that will help in finding out the exact reason for you feeling unwell, In response Mr. x very cooly said "Dr, just last week I myself got it done and all reports seemed normal except for my hemoglobin level that is less than 12. So, i immediately started consuming carrot juice, and other fruit juices ofcourse in moderation otherwise unnecessary problem may happen. who knows my sugar levels may increase ". Now Dr. Suri was perplexed beyond words. He asked Mr. x did you get any viral fever recently? Mr. x said yes, Doc. i did feel so and took Azithromycin for about 5 days and I was alright". Okk said Dr. Suri let me check your throat did you feel any throat irritation recently? he asked Mr. x. In reply Mr. x said yes Doc I did feel so and immediately took Montair LC for three days and I was fine. Ok that is fine said Doctor Suri. Wondering what else to check and give him the medicines Mr. x had asked on entering his Clinic. The next bit of conversation is what changed the entire Scenario.

Dr. Suri cleared his throat and said " you should do brisk walking in the morning" In response Mr. x says " Yes Sir I fully agree with you. I walk around 3 kms in the morning. I even do yoga and pranayam regularly. I eat a cup of sprouts and very light breakfast accompanied with a limited serving of seasonal fruit. You see everything should be in limit. My lunch consists of only home made food that includes 3 rotis and simple Dal accompanied with slices of beetroot, carrot and cucumber again everything in limited quantities only. My dinner includes 2 rotis with seasoned curd and any veggie in very less amount. I believe in healthy living and positive thinking. I monitor my BP regularly and eat very less amount of salt because I read somewhere that salt is the main culprit for increased blood pressure Right Sir? He questioned Dr. Suri who was spell bound(really?) with the amount of medical knowledge Mr. x seemed to have as per his own admission of the list of ailments and medicines he was referring to.

Doctor Suri cleared his throat once again and in a shallow sounding voice he said Sir. Mr. x do you have the medical kit you frequently use. If you have it please check my pulse rate it seems to be beating faster , please prescribe the required medicine as well.       ...

Needless to say Mr. x silently pushed out of the Clinic before Doctor Suri would yell at him for wasting his valuable time. He was feeling hungry too as it was already lunch time.  No no Dr. Suri did not give any concession for the prescribed fee he charged from patients it was already collected by the receptionist who issued the token waiting number for the same.      .
