Lost in the deep woods, birds with their fierce eyes gave me a suspicious look. Where to ahead, where to not and the safer place to return back were some of the questions running in my brain. When my eyes were wandering to have the answers, they caught rustling in bushes behind trees.

I followed the sound and peeped behind the tree. There was a vampire licking blood from the part of the skin. It must be mine. The deep cut in my left hand was must be given by him. My heart took the steps back. I grabbed my chain tightly. Slowly, moving back with all the senses fixed on him. How he found me and why I was his target?

But at a moment, my step crunched the branch lying lifelessly below my sole. This awoke him. His violent eyes turned to me. He wiped out my blood from his lips. His pointy ears bent down and stood again with green eyes enlarged. He ran for me. I ran fast as like when Uncle Gabriel used to run for hunting me just for ruining his polished surface with muddy shoes. But this vampire was more ferocious than him (although they have a lot of similarities). He raised his hand to hold me but a figure appeared on Pegasus took my hand and flew me in clouds.

When my heart’s pulse ebbed. I saw another vampire with sharply pointed ears. This time, I was in more danger. I have no place to run and also, I didn’t have Pegasus like him. I shouted loudly. My strange driver looked back and indicated something but before to understand them, a few more came to chasing me. They were having spears in their hands and chasing me on their flying horses. My driver gain his speed, he was changing many pathways but still, everyone was having their hunger for us. I was happy and surprised to see that a vampire was keeping me away from other vampires. Soon, a group of birds surrounded us and bravely fought against those hunters. Though, some of them martyred.

My driver took a sharp bend near the ground. We landed beside the river. As our Pegasus touched the land, I wanted to wish ‘thank you to him for saving me but trusting another vampire would not be safe enough. I ran down as I descended but a decent voice prevailed me. I turned back.

His soft eyes made the environment protected. He took a step towards me and I at back. Seeing this, I shuddered. He took his back.

“See, we don’t have time. We need to return back. I will leave you at the boundaries of your land.”

“Who are you? And why you want me to help?”, ignoring his request, I want an answer.

“I am your life-saver and see at your back silently. There are some vampires looking for you. So, you decide what to do now?”

My eyes flinched back and decided that this vampire was not like others. He was already on Pegasus and gave me his hand to move with him. He touched the cut from which blood was still flowing. His eyes sparkled but when I saw my cut, it was healed.

“Thank you”

“It’s okay my lady.”

His decency and kind manner conjectured that he must be a king. To this thought, I chuckled myself. How to fool I am! There must be no king among these vampires and if, then a king will surely not go against his subjects.

I slept for few minutes with my head lying on his back. The environment was so peaceful and trusting that my eyes closed themselves. When I opened them, there was no one? I was lying on the ground with human’s children paying nearby and a quill was in my hands.

I touched its soft feather and took it with me to my residence. I didn’t want to call it a dream but I have no proofs to believe it is a reality. I love writing and quill must be therefore in my hand.

I took quill in my hand and dipped it in ink. I pointed it to the notebook and thinking how it started but my hand started to write itself.

“Hi, my lady, spry to leave you alone with no formal goodbye but you are sleeping restlessly so I resisted myself. We, now you are in your world protected. I want to answer all of your doubts but it is none about your world. But I will advise you not to touch again the bark of a Mahogany tree in Clavender park. That tree joins our world.

Prince Daniel”

I was shocked to know that my conjectures were true. He was a prince and I was not daydreaming. But why he helped me and how he came to know the place of threat.
