Diary of a new mother 


My entire series of these 21 days will be based on my experience of being in this lockdown and staying home as a first-time mother of a 5-month-old baby, Anvay. 


Dear Diary,


After doing a google search to find an acupressurist who was close to my place and could give a quick consultation I found out about Smile Clinic where I contacted Dr. Suresh. He immediately responded after hearing out my problem and told me that he was ready to do a WhatsApp consultation. He was also an expert in Su Jok therapy and told me to get a surgical tape and keep some seeds like moong dal/ methi handy. Once I spoke to him he asked me to send a pic of the place where I had pain. Post that, he sent me images with markings on the fingers where I had to put the seed and press the acupressure point hard and wind it up with surgical tape. I am a great believer of Su Jok therapy as previously when Yd and I have taken consultation from Dr. Jha, it had worked wonders for us. I followed the instructions given by the doctor and waited to see if there was any relief. To my surprise, the pain had definitely come down but not gone completely. I was asked by Dr. Suresh to repeat the same and also follow stretching exercises. He was also conducting free online classes every evening on Palm Chi exercises which could be followed by all. Yd and I attended one session and I definitely felt a difference. I thanked the doctor for helping me out immediately without even expecting a consultation fee and also thanked God that I found some method to get some relief from the dull ache I was having. Since I had to keep holding the baby for his feeds and burps regularly, I needed the strength to attend to his needs properly. I promised the doctor that once this lockdown ends and he opens his clinic I would definitely pay a visit. That night when I sat down to feed the baby I definitely felt better. I shifted to a simple plastic chair instead of the office rotating chair and made a conscious effort to not sleep with my head falling forward.
