I opened my eyes with a massive grin on my face. I didn't get much sleep, thinking about Luke and his amazing dick. I don't think I had ever had sex like that before, urgent but feeling loved at the same time. I jumped up, ready to have breakfast with my amazing family. I hadn't forgotten about dickhead Kane and I hoped his hangover was kicking his arse. I skipped down the stairs, hearing chatter in the kitchen. Eurgh Jade was here. She sat next to Kane, both of them looking like they had been hit by a truck.

"Good morning!" I shouted as cheerful as I could, walking into the kitchen.

"Fuck off Kat," Kane grumbled and I gave him a beautiful smile. Luke was sitting opposite, nursing his coffee.

"Morning Kat, you're chipper this morning," mum laughed, making her own coffee.

"It just feels good not to have a hangover, you get me?" I got my cup out the cupboard.

"Mum, tell her to fuck off" Kane groaned and I chuckled. Dickhead.

"I won't tell her shit and!" She pointed at him. "When Jade goes, a conversation please between us." Mum's face changed and I poured hot water into my cup.

"Why have I got to leave?" Jade asked. I looked over at Luke who was trying to hide his smirk.

"It's a family conversation," mum said simply, passing me the milk.

"What about Luke?" Jade asked and Kane groaned. Oops, seems like someone's time was up.

"Jade, shut up. Let's go and get dressed." Kane stood, dragging her up the stairs.

"Really?" Mum asked me, her eyebrows raised.

"They are getting married apparently," I teased, sitting opposite Luke.

"Kat, fuck off right this second." I laughed at her words, watching her walk into the hallway.

"Morning," Luke smiled at me and my butterflies were about to burst out of my stomach.

"Good morning, how was the sofa?" I asked, cheekily.

"Fucking awful, I'm way too tall to sleep on a sofa." Luke stretched his arms out, his head back. His head came back to me, my hand was flat on the table, and I watched him as he ran his finger down each one of my fingers. His eyes weren't on me, but the simple touch was turning me on. "Are you working tomorrow?" Luke asked me, his eyes still on my hand.

"I finish at two. Why?" I took a sip of coffee.

"Come to mine," he whispered. My heart leaped, staring at his face.

"Okay," my voice was equally quiet.

"I didn't say this kitchen was spotless when I got up this morning." Mum burst back into the kitchen, Luke pulled his hand back, sitting back on the chair.

"Me and Luke did it." I said quietly. Mum turned to me, chuckling.

"I thought you weren't going to clean?" She raised her eyebrow. Luke chuckled, taking a gulp of his coffee.

"I came downstairs to get a drink and he was doing it so I helped him," I shrugged.

"Where was the birthday boy? Other than shagging someone under my roof." Mum rolled her eyes, and it took everything in my power not to look at Luke.

"Think it was just that Kirsty, he was wasted though." Luke laughed.

"Good, let's hope he couldn't perform."

"Mum, fuck sake," I groaned, not needing that image. Mum walked to the kitchen doorway, her hand on the frame.

"Kane! Move your fucking arse!" She screamed. Luke stood, washing his cup up.

"That's my que to leave," he smiled at me, mum coming back into the kitchen.

"Luke, don't be silly. You are family." She sat opposite me.

"No it's okay, I'll see you soon." He gave a little wave, walking out the kitchen.

"Jesus, why couldn't he be my son." Mum rolled her eyes, and I watched Kane come back into the kitchen. "Your girlfriend gone?" Mum asked and he sighed, sitting next to her.

"She isn't my girlfriend," he scoffed.

"Just fucking her then, lovely. Right, we're talking about that embarrassment last night." Mum's voice was firm, and I lowered myself into the chair.

"She started it," Kane spat out, acting like a child.

"How the fuck did I start it?" I asked him, anger in my voice. "You firstly told Luke not to talk to me and then told me he only talks to beautiful women so why am I even bothering!" I said, my voice raised.

"I don't know why you talk to him," Kane shrugged. "You're embarrassing yourself. He can get any woman; he isn't going to touch you with a barge pole." Kane's eyes were directly on mine, and I coughed to get rid of my snicker.

"Why do you care? Also, I'm not fucking interested in him." I lied.

"I care because he is my friend, I don't want my loser sister sniffing around him."

"You only care because it fucks up your ability to fuck anything that moves. Luke your wing man, yeah? Fuck the friend so you can get herpes," I spat out.

"Okay, this is going nowhere." Mum put her hands flat on the table.

"Sorry I'm not a virgin like you," Kane scoffed.

"I'm not a fucking virgin if it's any of your business." I crossed my arms.

"What? Kane shut up. You didn't know Kat had a boyfriend for about two years?" Mum looked confused.

"No, you didn't," he responded quickly.

"Yes, I did. You don't know anything about my life." I sat back, over this conversation. Kane was the most selfish person I had ever met, even if we had a relationship where I could tell him, he still wouldn't give a shit.

"What happened?" He asked, his eyes looked sad, and it confused me. Probably doing it for mum's benefit.

"He cheated on me. Got some random woman pregnant," I shrugged. Kane looked down, rubbing his hands together.

"If you were a better brother, you would know that. You would have been able to help Kat through it. But let's just call her a virgin," mum rubbed her forehead.

"I don't know what to say," Kane whispered and I sat up. "Sorry Kat, I should have been there for you." He looked up at me and his eyes told me he was telling the truth.

"It's fine." I lied again.

"I just get frustrated with you." Kane paused and I tried not to roll my eyes. "You're better than the life you are living. Why has your gap year been for four years? Why are you waiting tables for peanuts?" He looked confused and I sighed, his truth bomb hitting me like a ton of bricks.

"I'll figure it out," I whispered. Unsure if I would. Mum looked at us both, letting out a breath.

"Right, can we draw a line under this please? I want you both to remember you actually only have each other?" I nodded, she was right. Completely right but I doubt this one conversation would change years of us at each other's throats.

"Yeah, of course. Can I go back to bed? My head is fucking killing me." Kane stood up as he spoke. Mum nodded and I watched him walk out of the kitchen.
