Amelia

It was a nice Monday afternoon after school . Linda was making popcorn in the kitchen for her new friend Amelia would visit her today and they would have a sleepover. Linda made the popcorn and went to her room to freshen up. A few minutes later the calling bell rang, and Linda's mother hurried to open the door. Linda called "Who is it mom? Is it Amelia? ", her mother replied " No honey, its the Pizza delivery guy. You ordered a cheese pizza. Remember? ". Linda did remember ordering her and Amelia's favourite pizza. Her new friend Amelia would come over to her house for the first time, so she needed everything to be perfect. " oh yea, I know mom, thanks!". The pizza was there, so was the popcorn. Everything was there, but something or rather someone was missing; Amelia. 30mins passed by, followed by an hour. Linda started to become impatient. The doorbell rang again. "MOM IS IT AMELIA?", "No Lin, it's your sister. She returned from her cheerleading practise" her mom replied. But Amelia never came. It was time for dinner. Linda, her sister and their parents sat together and ate pasta. Linda sadly said "I can't believe Amelia didn’t come today.. We were both so excited about it." Her sister tried to comfort her by saying "Its okay Lin. Maybe there were some problems". But Linda didn’t listen, and snapped " IT IS NOT OKAY!" and went to her room. Her mother said quietly "If only you knew honey, your friend Amelia never existed"
