It's raining so hard, it looks misty. White lightening cracks in the sky, spreading like quick poison, and then disappears. A moment later, theres a roar of thunder, so ferocious, it seems to shake the ground. A drop slides down the long leaf and hangs there. The leaf shakes with the weight of it or because of the wind. I wait for it to fall, and it does. the beautiful pale bulge lets go of the leaf, and I catch it on the back of my hand, from where I absently taste it. It tastes clear. Too clear.

Dragonflies buzz where I stand. I try not to lay my hand on my sword. Killing all the bugs in the world won't help anyone.

The poison makes it's way fast through the body, I have to meditate for an hour just to get it out of my system.

The dragonflies are still buzzing. The rain has stopped awhile back but they don't get the message. I can't even tell anyone about it. I walk alone. I tighten my first and they all fall down. I flick my shoulder where a dead fly landed and walk on it.
