A Memorable Sunday

 In Raghavpur town there was cloudy weather on Sunday at 10 am. A person was knocking the main door repeatedly at the house belonging to Vivek Adhyapak, who was glancing at the headlines of the newspaper.  At the same time, his wife Soumya was shouting in panic in the kitchen. He was puzzled as to whom he should attend first. He went to the main door and saw the person through the window. He was a courier boy who delivered a cover addressed to Vivek. Without opening the door, Vivek took cover. When he opened the cover, it was good news. The company where he was working as an accountant, placed his service under suspension for the misappropriation of funds. He had appealed to the management that he was innocent. Now after one year the case has been settled and Vivek proved not guilty. He was advised to report for duty. He was happy and wanted to share the happiness with his wife Soumya.

She was in angry mood, when she came out of the kitchen and said, 

"Vivek, did you not hear my shouting.?

"Yes, what happened to you?"

"Just three minutes before, I had fallen down from a ladder in the kitchen and got unbearable pain in the lower side of my left leg."

"You must be careful, whenever you climb on the ladder. How did it happen?"

" Vivek, just three minutes, a black cat rushed through the window and drank the milk kept on the dining table. While going back, the black cat broke the new designer cup saucer set and glasses. I was terribly afraid because the cat was scary, and I thought it may attack me. In that process, I lost my balance on the ladder and fell down causing injury. This is the first time that the black cat entered the house. Please take steps "

"That I will do. Let us go to the hospital right now."

"Before that, get me a first aid box."

Vivek brought the first aid box and applied ointment gently over the injury part and wrapped the bandage. He was not worried about breaking the cup saucer set and emptying the vessel full of milk. He was most worried about Soumya. After some time, she was feeling better.

Vivek conveyed the good news and told the reason for his delay in coming to the kitchen. Vivek took her to the nearest hospital. The doctor examined and advised her to undergo a laboratory test. In the evening the report was ready. After checking the lab report the doctor told everything was normal and the good news was that she was pregnant. Vivek was happy to know that shortly he would be a father of a child after five years of marriage.

Soumya too was happy to know two good news at a time and forgot the bitter incident that had happened in the morning.

Sunday was a memorable day for the young couple.
