WAITING FOR ETERNITY
WAITING FOR ETERNITY
I. I am. I am waiting. We are.
An orphan, a prisoner of time
Waiting for the end, the punchline
The answer to the BIG question
“Why did I bother?”; tssk tssk, cynicism
Becomes you not; look around, look at what
You’ve got. Your hopes and ambitions are not spent or wasted
The potential for something wonderful is still alive
The big question! “For what purpose/reason am I here?”
Answers? Answers are not found in heavy-bound books
Theological tomes, philosophical debates (on second thoughts
The latter can be an interesting source of material, choose wisely)
We spend our lives searching, asking, inquiring, experimenting
Trying this, trying that; putting on this, that; a gown, a jacket, a hat
Why? Does it give a sense of purpose? A reason to carry on?
One out of ten ain’t bad. We spend our lives seeking what to believe in
Why? Beliefs become embedded in our self-talk, that which exists in our mind
Like a reel going round and round, acting as the basis for our actions
Two out of ten? Purpose, beliefs, reasons, actions, thoughts (mental processes)
The physical health, well-being to achieve (six out of ten), determination (to succeed)
Spontaneity (to enjoy life), gratitude (for all we have, we get), and appreciation
(of natural beauty and aesthetics) [makes ten? Jolly hockey sticks!] Hoorah
Are we an orphan, a prisoner of time
Waiting for the end, the punchline
The answer to the BIG question: “Why did I bother?”
Shame on you. What can you see? The cosmos
Eternity, waiting to claim us back; we. comprised
Of the building blocks of the stars, return home
