Walking through the forest where they now play

No reminders of the forgotten footsteps of yesterday

When times of tragedy and change came through this way

And captured the souls and here they lay

Forever a part of the past, a memory that didn't last

Advancements move forward and destroy so fast

The sacrifices left on the ground

By the ones now gone, never to be found

For everything, there is a price to be paid

And histo

ry is a victim left unrecorded,

So soon will fade

Stand tallest when facing the greatest foe

Bravery is a badge not awarded anyone worthy will know

History is never written by the ones that pay the price

Eventually, history will tell the stories of their sacrifice

Lives lived and lives lost

Dollar signs increased as values rise

Is it worth the cost

The weak are a commodity this should not be a surprise
