UNFATHOMABLE LOVE

An earthquake's rumbling roar,

Brought death and destruction to the shore, 

Lives stolen, buildings crumbled,

The toll so high, leaving memories half-lived.

Amid the rubble, a scene so rare,

A mother's embrace, a baby so fair,

She lay still, but a life in her hold.

Her little one safe from the quake so cruel.

The young life lay on her bosom

That no longer throbbed for a future.

Her body still, but her baby at peace,

Drinking from her lifeless breasts.

No tears the baby shed for its loss,

Its eyes untouched by grief or pain.

Unaware that the warmth that holds him so dear,

Has left this world, facing her final fight.

Amid the heaps of broken dreams,

The mother lay in silent screams.

The shaken mother gobbled up lives innocent,

And left a mother's love that never descends.
