Twilight Hours
Twilight Hours
I sit and brood,
Over what I could
and should have
accomplished in
this life of seventy years,
The scorecard between
could and should
remains as blank as
pages unwritten,
Self-analysis reveals
there were gaps
between what I could
but procrastination
was my Achilles heel,
And time flew past
without realizing
that age had crept
up on me, reducing
the need to accomplish
things
Lethargy had set in.
Why...why...why
did I not seize those
opportunities?
Excuses I can offer many
That still doesn't take away
my miseries.
