The Longing
The Longing
A spark, so sudden, that had flashed in our hearts-
I wish, it could last forever;
That sparkle of tender feelings in your eyes
I know, won’t persist forever.
It carried me in its naïve charm
To a land of pleasurable thoughts,
Liberating me from the shackles of sorrow
In which the mind had, till then, remained caught.
I tried to get rid of that intense penchant,
But it was rapaciously engulfing my soul,
As I tried to grab on to it,
Like a smoky devil, it flowed out, escaping my hold.
The heart, now, weeps for the love it seeks,
The mind keeps wandering in disillusion,
The soul longs to unite with its mate,
And I long to submit myself to that fiery passion.
