The locked bird
The locked bird
Locked in a golden cage
A song bird was I,
I saw the sky a piece of light,
But I could never fly.
My eyes were blind,
In the dark,
My wings broken and weak,
I tried to hit the metal bars,
With my slender beak,
A friend came like a sudden storm,
And opened my cage door,
With maddening joy,
I flapped my wings ,
To see the world more.
But my wings were weak ,
Withered and old,
Broken with the age,
I could never fly again,
So I went back to the cage
