The Enigma Of Life

The Enigma Of Life

1 min 137 1 min 137

No one asked me whether I wanted to be born-- now I am not responsible for my life,

No one asked me whether I wanted ‘Life’, then why should I be embroiled in this strife?

I am like a bird that has been unknowingly trapped. Frustrated, I find no way of escape,

Its sheer injustice, as I had no voice- I would have never dared to take this rash step.

My feet have become blistered and bloody, my hands have turned black and blue,

Who with a sane mind, would have opted for this life, I have not the slightest clue.

As the sun creeps up the reddening sky, like a sly fox to startle the slumbering world,

I am up and toiling- but with gruelling labour, my bruised fingers are sore and gnarled.

Old age tortures me, contorting my limbs; helplessly I writhe in excruciating pain,

It mercilessly flogs me, finding sadistic mirth in its cruel sport, but is it all in vain?

There’s something far greater than this drudgery, which is difficult to comprehend,

Why the Almighty to this expansive universe, the inconsequential humans send.

When we come into this world, we are privileged, to be a part of His divine plan,

Nothing is as rewarding as to be united, in the best bond, between God and Man.
