Sometimes, there's so much to say,

Yet words escape, and silence stays.

A longing to converse, to share and to tell,

But reasons falter, and the moment's lost to dwell.

An awkwardness lingers, a feeling so hard to define,

A sense of disconnection, a heart that's left behind.

I type out a message, only to delete it with a sigh,

Ending every conversation with a hasty "bye" or "okay, I'll try".

Oh, how I yearn for understanding, for someone to see,

The turmoil that's brewing, the emotions that are me.

If I'm silent, don't assume it's indifference or disdain,

Perhaps it's just the weight of words unspoken, the pain.

If I don't respond, please don't hesitate to reach out,

Send a message, a gentle nudge, a heartfelt "what's it all about?"

Let's break the silence, let's bridge the gap,

And find a way to connect, to heal, to mend the fracture, and to map.
