Prayer Warrior
Prayer Warrior
Some wage war, blood-thirsty barbarians all
Consumed of such vile lusts
As bring the world to its knees.
But, out of sight and earshot
Some hold their contempt
As though holding the tiger's mouth shut
With their bare hands...
Those hands clenched together like welded metal,
Those hands pressed to sweating drops of blood
For the peace which passes all understanding
To fall like spring rain
And our parched human hearts
Before all decency and kindness
Vanishes forever.
