Poor But Blessed

I may be poor but

I am blessed;

I've got a child who

Is my best friend.

He cries sometimes when

He is very hungry,

And when he gets food

He is all day happy.

He sticks by my side

When I am working,

He chuckles, he smiles

At every little thing.

I struggle each day

To make a living,

My pains go away

With my child so loving.

I am happy O Lord, you

Gave me such an invaluable gift,

I am not at all poor-

I have such a great gift.
