Elections

Season for erections

Of pandals and panels

Blaring loud speakers

One after another many speakers

Doling out promises

Gibberish and rubbishes

Come next day it is all forgotten.

Drought here and there

But liquor flows here and every where

Raids and seizures

Shocking and outrageous

Net worth, self-worth and Crorepaths,

Doubling and tripling

Criminal records too, upping.

Middle class, cattle class

Merely a jackass,

Grumbling and crumbling

Find it all stifling.

Election commission

Watching out for political sermons

Gives out Missives and Censures.

Soothsayers and naysayers

Have a whale of their time.

While temples and priests with hands full

And up to their neck, have no time.

It is all about democracy

For dynasty and nasty

In state after state

In party after party.

Ninety thousand crores

Total spend on elections

Jokers and buffoons

To seat themselves in the parliament.

Elections

Season of Selections.

This poem, merely an excretion

of my frustration
