Guru Purnima

At the age of 4, I entered school, a new land,

There I stood, with no companion, no friend.

I had a goal, a treasure to find,

A long future ahead but no way behind.

She held my finger and guided me to the class,

Comforted me, introducing me to the mass.

Years passed, textbooks changed,

Experience was gained and the morals remained.

She taught me to rise from the rags,

And to fill life into the school bags.

She taught me to be a smile in a world of tears,

And to be a tigress in a world of fears.

She said, "Life is a flow,

Sometimes a blessing, otherwise a blow.

Smile broad even in the darkest night,

Because things always go wrong before God sets them right!"

She told my parents not to be worried,

Because real talent can never be burried.

She taught me to stand for myself, no matter what,

And to accept with open arms whatever life has brought.

Yes, she was my teacher, a game-changer,

She taught me to live life, yes, she was a life-changer.

We all have such teachers, even me and you,

She told we'll succeed, she always knew!

So, here's to teachers who taught us lessons for life,

Here's to teachers who shaped us into diamonds for life.

This Guru Purnima, I thank all the teachers for loving us to the fullest,

I thank them all for bringing life to its fullest!!!
