Pause And Reflect

What has served as a reminder of you?

Is only mischief that comes to mind

Or was it something else that came through?

That you had hoped was left behind.

Did you bring smiles to each face?

As you would try to give it your all

Did those hardships you embrace?

Or in the end, Do you only remember your fall?

Was there one around you who was behind?

And thus was only seen in an unfortunate light

In regards to them did any pity you find any?

Or when it came to them did it take flight?

Which of us is without fault?

Sadly this reminder doesn't always appear,

Are you among those who only taste salt?

From those who've forgotten how to steer.

Do you remember each second chance?

The ones you obtain time and time again

If so how could you ever take the stance

That those lost can never figure things out in the end?

I may not have room to talk given the mistakes I've made,

But I know how it feels to only be shown your setbacks

Despite the fact that in the end the price was paid,

Such a view must be seen only as an attack.

This time of year should inspire a certain attitude throughout,

To let their mistakes go and carry on,

For if you are able to figure things out,

Then surely any hope for them can not be gone.
