Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time, a demon attacked our world

His name was “Covid” and he spared none,

Dismantled all sources of felicity from this “ lively blue orb”

Making the people beg for the end of the demon’s reign!

We were living in a world full of joy and enthusiasm,

Never thought it would become stagnant hit by a wave of uncertainties,

Until the reality cut through the brain,

Now we know, the world isn’t going to be the same, ever again.

The world tried to move on, but something held it back

It tried and tried until everything felt- “dark and black”

That’s when Mr Internet cut in,

Shedding some light, maybe mankind will heal.

But soon, he was snagged away by the government,

Saying he was the reason- “more kids were seen wearing glasses”,

I mean that’s true and all,

But he was the only thing that kept us connected to the rest of the world!

The authorities listened to none of that at all,

Said – “We can’t afford to let the health status of our place fall !”

Physically and mentally our people should stay the strongest,

And that was when the thread of hope, was disfigured.

It didn’t help that the world was not yet normal,

And people in a way lost their loved ones

Everyone’s face was drowned in the melancholy of the circumstances

Until Ms Nature popped into the ‘little situation”!

Seeing people so depressed and sad,

She decided to recite them a tale,

The people didn’t quite cheer up,

But decided to follow along as well.

“Once there was land named, Pangaea

That existed a countless number of years ago,

Water, land and animals where it’s only pals,

The one and only people, that accompanied her.

Neither fancy restaurants, nor Mobile networks existed on it

Flowers, fruits and trees were its only ornaments

The only companion it had to converse to was itself

Until the Almighty decided to break it into seven fragments.

It still decided to stand up and stay strong,

Despite the pain running through its veins

Today it still stands strong,

Transformed and changed with modern influence .”

“Yes it’s the seven continents I am talking about”, she sung

“They once stood united,

Maybe it was broken down

But somehow its stories still stayed connected.”

The people listened with interest,

“It was devoid of internet, or mobile phones

But human beings from different fragments of her,

Decided to visit and learn about each other .”

“When this was done, people were still without the internet

But decided to continue their missions nonetheless,

It helped them recognize each other,

And embrace their, unknown friends.”

“So you see, mankind didn’t always have internet,

But it had wit and courage ;

A little bit of both might help you right now –

And knowing that there is always a way out .”

With that she flew away, flapping her emerald toned wings

The people sat with hopefulness returning to their faces

“Maybe she was right,” said all,

“We can always try, because the Almighty hasn’t taken away our willpower, yet .”

Life without the internet can be hard,

But it’s not impossible,

The Internet never existed years back,

But people survived without it – with something known as ‘love’.
