MYSTERY PARCELS
MYSTERY PARCELS
Things wrapped up, With no way of identifying them
Kinda like life, ain’t it? Yeah? History’s a similar sort of thing
You can recognise something familiar, but you’re unsure
Of how it ends or is going to end Happy or sad
The needing might be, do you feel a connection?
Yes, they have names; that suggest but do not tell
of their claim to fame or infamy. there are some things
That one has to discover by oneself. The meaning of life
Sex and sexuality; It’s exciting. To stumble onto an event
That happened a long time ago. You read it
And exclaim, “that’s terrible!” It makes you angry
Makes you sad; if you let it it will make you mad
It’s a similar experience to finding out about sex
Most probably from the least informed source
Learning about Death is probably a less frequent
And a more structured process. Life is full of Mystery
Parcels, that become less mysterious when we open them
Then the hard work begins; the research, the fact-checking
[not all histories are balanced], as an understanding evolves
Perhaps the biggest mystery is “who am I?” To answer that
Is a lifetime commitment. Be careful with mystery parcels
Constrain your eagerness; don’t rush. Exercise caution.
Not all surprises are pleasant. Some come with pain
Others require someone to explain, to help you choose
Whether to accept or reject the pain and what that will mean
In the future (it is ideal if that “someone” is still alive.
There’s always an element of chance. Mystery parcels
Require careful handling. All is not what it might seem
Be it in bright wrappings should raise alarms
Good things do not need gloss or shiny objects
Packaging is about attraction; it is a study in its own right
A package can be dull, boring, or urbane, but still, provoke interest
It is that interest that leads to intent: to find out more about it
The point is, whatever the attraction is to exploring more
Go slow; if the interest grows, go slower. Seek balance
If the subject matter is dark, seek light s much as you can
The thing about parcels is unless clearly marked
We don’t know who they’re for, do we?
A parcel might seem to choose you. Be not flattered
Approach with caution, and be alert. Things are not
Always what they seem to be. Don’t you agree?
