Mother and Daughter
Mother and Daughter
Nights when silence is broken by your loud cries,
Your mother's holds and cradles you,
Rocking you, through and fro, gently,
Singing a soothing lullaby,
You stare at her and drift off to sleep.
The nursing days, sleepless nights,
Mother's worried frown,
Creased eye brows,
All the while growth of silent
bond of intimacy,
Between you and your child
that lasts a life time.
Role reversal, your mother now cries in pain,
You keep her head on your
lap,
Stroking gently, singing a lullaby,
Staring at her daughter, She drifts of to sleep.
she gently removes her mother's head,
Walks towards her crying daughter's crib;
Lifts her gently rocks her in to sleep,
As has been taught by her mother
This cycle of life goes on,
Mother to daughter,
The beginning of childhood,
The miracle of motherhood.
