Insipid Journey
Insipid Journey
Resounding howl underneath my smile
Beckons solace for a spirit deemed fragile
Drowning in darkness of uniting eyelids
Hunting for comfort in a world so vapid
Lying down static as a fallen leaf
That’s lost its footing to the autumn breeze
I experience a numbness I fail to perceive
This seems to be the onset of a grand ordeal
Frost envelops the space where I lay
Conflicting thoughts commence to fray
Chilling reveries necessitate lament
An end-game emerges that’s far from prudent
Poignant memories overpower calm restraint
Fragments of hope appear to be faint
An impulsive action I can’t seem to comprehend
The noose around my neck - my loyal friend
A deep breath later I choose to plummet
Swaying and fluttering brings forth regret
Floating like a feather while gasping for air
An insipid journey halts without much fanfare
