Innocent Love1 min 101 1 min 101
Those big blue eyes and curly brown hair,
That's the first time I saw her standing out there.
With tears in her eyes as her mother let her go,
She cried out loud as our teacher shut the door.
Her lovely round face had gone red with her sobbing,
Her hair was a mess and her nose was running.
I stared at her with my eyes and mouth open,
I wouldn't have said a word even if I had spoken.
Our teacher consoled her and calmed her down,
And made her sit beside me as I watched with a frown.
Is this really happening? Is she sitting here? Or am I just dreaming? I wasn't really sure!
As she slowly turned and looked at me,
I smiled at her as my heart danced in glee.
She looked at me with her big round eyes,
As if trying to decide if I was actually nice.
Shyly she gave me a small smile,
But not before checking me out for a good while.
I was too small to know what it meant,
Yet it was a new kind of excitement.
As days passed she smiled at me more,
Always waving at me when she was at the door.
Gone are those days, don't know why or how,
All I know is that it was the most innocent Love!
