India, My Confession
India, My Confession
India, dear India,
So many people you have inside you dwell,
But here I have to make a confession,
Why many of your sons, daughters, and families are cruel.
India, why can't rural girls study instead of hearth chow?
Is this not evil reprimand?
Can't indeed a poor boy go to school?
Instead of laboring on a command.
Can't lonely girls roam streets at night?
Without fear of loss of dignity tonight,
India, can't you control your own sons?
Instead of making girls feel like the shameless ones.
Why can't women make a good carrier?
Haven't your sons, India, seen great women,
Rani Lakshmi Bai, Sarojini Naidu, and innumerable more, all women,
India, teach your offsprings to cherish them.
Preach your people India,
Teach your people India...
