I Live Beyond Life
I Live Beyond Life
A tricolor adorns the coffin where I lie
This wreath of flowers bid me a final good bye
My friends too, near me in such coffins sleep
Hark! That military salute is for my final retreat
Oh! Please tell my father I'll come home earlier than my leave
And hold on to dear mother, tell her not to weep
And please do tell my wife that I apologized
Although I promised yet I would now never be by her side
And all my countrymen when you see tomorrow's sunrise
All over green trees when you see saffron and white
Remember it's me patrolling the skies
A soldier I was and will be beyond life.
