HOLINESS OF SPIRIT (Week 5; Theme : Holi)

The season of spring comes with songs and flowers,

We welcome spring in and with lines of poetry,

Lovers unite under the skies and marigold bowers,

Couples enjoy company with each other, shorn of coquetry.

The festival of colors is the celebration of love amid nature and man,

It falls in rhythm with spring so as to couple both in healthy unison

The riot of hues amid leaves and human hearts by ways only Nature can –

Holi is the day when ‘Rang Barse’ is sung in drunken condition.

We play with gulaal and color each other for and with love,

Spring’s the only time of the year when spirits are aflame

People set aside work and ‘It’s playtime!’ for all beneath the alcove,

Festival is enjoyed with fun, blowin’ off with the wind all our shame.

Holi is to be celebrated in all holiness shorn of misbehavior

Even Lord Krishna played Holi and thus he’s our Savior!
