Hiraeth

Hiraeth

1 min 1.8K 1 min 1.8K

I'm typing and clicking.

The deadline is ticking

Like a time-bomb in my ear.

At the moment I hear

This old little song

Forgotten for long.

And all of a sudden

Leaving all burden

By the river I stand,

In a far-away land,

Where wind is cold,

And alleys are old.

Droplets of rain

On window pane

Frozen in time.

With senses sublime,

I sit in the nook

And open my book.

Is it an untold story,

Or a dream, or memory?

I trudge, I roam,

I yearn for a home.

A home--forever gone,

Or perhaps I had none.
