GOLDEN YEARS
GOLDEN YEARS
I chose writing as a career ages ago
I give to writing, what writing gives to me – in one go
Freedom, with all the letters capital
From all inhibitions, thereby constricting and ornamental.
When my first write-up was published in the paper,
It made everyone engage themselves in a lively caper!
Seven years have gone by since that day, when
My first book – a memoir – saw the light of day then.
I have encountered people, going past me in streams
Looking back, they appear to be part of flashing light beams.
I am about to step to the golden years of my life,
A book commemorates that milestone with a fife
Is this a time to sit back and spend time in recollection?
No! I’ve crossed the benchmark where I can celebrate in jubilation!
Childhood, growing up, adolescence and coming of age –
Had been all watched by my parents, I was under their tutelage,
I thank my genes that I am alive and kicking
I have kept the clock running on a pace, thereby ticking!!
