What brought me to you,

Shoreline’s eroding,

Grains of sand,

Ever cutting, never planned.

Tide comes in,

Then the tide goes,

Ever pulling, ever pushing,

Ever moving, never opposed.

What brought me to you,

Took you away,

Ever shaking, Ever aching,

Ever ridden, never conveyed.

Force of man, force of nature,

Broken sea glass, bloodied hand,

Ever healing, ever clotting,

Ever mending, you'll never understand.

Ocean between, ocean above, preservation, ocean floor,

Rare stones sunken, jagged ocean shores.

Ever sinking, Ever swirling,
