Concerned About My Stranger Friend!

Every day on my morning walk, I see,

An elderly man sitting on the porch,

With the newspaper in his hand,

Through his glasses reading it at a close angle!

Every day I see him in the same position,

Reading the newspaper or thinking something,

About the news in the papers or his own concerns,

But, he is there on the spot without fail, in his place!

Now, for the past few days, I don’t see him in his chair,

The chair stays empty on the porch, without him on it,

Other things I see near his chair, which weren’t earlier there,

Where is this elderly man? my stranger friend!

I am just waiting to see him back in his chair soon,

When will that be? I am so concerned…….

Is he sick and in bed? Or not in the station now?

Gone to another child’s home or on vacation?

Whom do I ask? I don’t know anyone there,

Nor in any way am I related to him to find out,

It’s just that I got used to seeing him regularly on my walk,

I want to see him back on his chair with the newspaper in his hand once again!
