Cool mid-day breeze causing ripples in her hair,
The soft sand beneath her toes, her head bowed down in silent prayer.
She prayed for the sea within her heart to be calm,
The lonliness of her soul acting as a balm;
She was alone, minding her way;
If only love could have its say.
Society would let her lover be there,
If only things would be kept fair,
But in love there is only hope,
It enables all shackles to cope.
And that is just what she did,
For she knew deep down that time once gone,
Will never come back
And hence a moment well-lived is a quarter earned,
And a memory gained is wisdom learned.
