Broken Wings...

Looking back now, twenty years hence,

Still fresh and palpable is the fear,

The hurricane which shook the foundation,

Of faith and security.

The towers which epitomised,

Freedom and conviction,

Besides being the landmark,

Was crushed by the hounds of hell.

Small men with extremely insidious intent,

Like rats, came out of their holes,

And with false religion, brain washed,

No scripture ever justifying,

Killing of innocents, 

Struck in the heart of land,

To leave a breathing painful scar.

I roamed around in numb fear,

Pal of gloom and debris everywhere,

Children seeking their parents,

Families aghast at the unbearable audacity,

None had the answer,

For the remains of the day.

Orphans of terror,

A war which can never end,

As long as dark tides of hatred

And malice keeps washing up,

Ghosts of skeletons, of innocence, lost,

We seek faith in paradise regained.

Now twenty years after,

I look at the memorial,

Hands still shake, as one lays the flowers,

On satanic acts, which scorned at our faith,

Yet flowers shall bloom again,

New dawn of peace shall usher and 

Rejuvinate, the wounds bleeding within,

Let the doves fly,

For broken wings,

Shall soar again.
